Clare is reading for a DPhil in Computer Science as a Rhodes Scholar, with a focus on foundations of machine learning. Before starting graduate studies, she did research on reinforcement learning at Google Brain and McGill’s Reasoning and Learning Lab, and on AI policy at the Future of Humanity Institute.
Abhishek is pursuing a DPhil in Philosophy at Balliol College as a Wellcome Trust Scholar, focusing primarily on ethical, legal, and policy issues arising from the use of AI systems in healthcare. He completed his B.A. and M.A. from the National University of Singapore, and has also worked in management consulting, social impact consulting, and tech (AI) startups.
Maayan is pursuing a DPhil in Anthropology at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. Her research focuses on the cultural and psychological dimensions of creativity. She has also worked as an applied anthropologist for hospitals and tech companies. Maayan is passionate about developing innovative ways to combine small-scale anthropological methods and big data methods in order to create better technologies, health systems, urban spaces and education.
